We are forming a journey we will call Annemarie’s Love and Light Cancer Warriors.
At the heart of Annemarie's life journey was her motto by which she lived: Never Give In and Never Give Up.
It was through this strength that she cared for others and faced her own diagnosis of breast cancer with love and light.
Love and light were not merely words to Annemarie. They were reflected in how she lived her life, how she treated others, and how she faced every challenge before her. Even through her battle with cancer, she continued to share that love and light with those around her.
Today, her motto continues to encourage us, and her example inspires us to carry forward the love and light she shared so freely.
As we take our first step on this journey, we look back to how we first met Annemarie and her family. It was through our products.
Over the years, these products have continued to be requested by cancer warriors: those fighting cancer and those who support them. Crafted from pure ingredients of the land, these products are handmade, eco-friendly, unscented, gentle, and without harsh chemicals, dyes, or synthetic additives.
We will call these favored products Annemarie's Cancer Warriors. Net proceeds will go toward supporting individuals battling cancer.
The reality of cancer treatment can be a relentless sensory assault. Active therapies can leave skin, taste, and smell feeling incredibly raw, hyper-sensitive, and easily overwhelmed. Because these products are crafted to be pure in their nature, they offer individuals gentle support that respects ultra-sensitive systems and help lend simple comfort to daily routines.
Everyone who wants to support, or already does support in any way, such as caregivers, friends, family, and donors, and those battling cancer themselves, are welcome to share this journey as an Annemarie's Love and Light Cancer Warrior.
Together, we all can carry forward Annemarie's love and light, and the words she lived by: Never Give In and Never Give Up!
Living in the Definition of Courage and Love
Annemarie passed away on November 22, 2021, at her home in Michigan, at the age of 65, after a 22-year battle with breast cancer. Annemarie never allowed the disease to control her life, instead, she always remained committed to living life to its fullest—her strength and resilience knew no bounds.
Annemarie met the love of her life and husband of over 40 years, Fred, while both were Michigan State Troopers assigned to the Bay City Post. It was love at first sight for both. The couple had four children, and it was no secret the true loves of her life were her grandsons, who affectionately called her “Gigi.”
Annemarie spent over 31 years with the Michigan State Police, retiring as a Captain/Commanding Officer of the Criminal Investigation Division for SE Michigan—the Division's first female commander. During that time Annemarie also graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy. Upon retirement, the Detroit News said it best, “Trailblazing State Cop Retires.” Not being one to sit around, retirement was short-lived. Annemarie went on to work as Deputy Inspector General for the Detroit Public Schools and later, as Manager of Corporate Investigations for DTE Energy. In what little spare time she had, you could find Annemarie doing what she did best and enjoyed most: shopping for home décor, transforming her house for every holiday, and ensuring her yard was always an outdoor oasis. Her family is confident she kept several stores in business throughout the years.
Annemarie's love and light will never be replaced but instead carried on through her husband, children, grandchildren, and all of those fortunate enough to have known her. "To the world, Annemarie was one person, but to her family and loved ones, she was the world."
